…says the LP governorship primary was marked by dishonesty, fraud and fabricated delegates
The former Minority Whip, Edo State House of Assembly (2015-2019) and 2023 Labour Party Candidate for the House of Representative, to represent Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Ezehi MD Igbas KSJI, has faulted the Edo State Labour Party governorship primary that produced a former Nigeria Bar Association’s president, Olumide Akpata, as its governorship candidate, say the primary was characterized with dishonesty, fraud and largely fabricated delegates saying it is exactly the opposite of what Obidient stands for.
The former Edo State House of Assembly member alongside his supporters also disassociates themselves from the purported infamous fitness walk of the labour governorship candidate and his cohort.
A press statement issued by Hon. Chief Ezehi MD Igbas and made available to Newsmen reads;
Press Release!
Dear Compatriot,
Talk against walk!
Friends and supporters have called me nonstop regarding our position on the alleged proposed Obidient fitness walk scheduled to hold in Benin City on March 30th as planned by the Labour Party Governorship candidate.
As a major stakeholder in the Obidient project, I must state with great concern that neither my supporters nor I will be part of this farce, which aims to deceive the public into believing that the LP governorship candidate is an Obidient project.
I brashly disassociated myself from the infamous fitness walk of the LP governorship candidate and his cohort.
Setting the record straight is also very crucial, to state that the Labour Party Governorship candidate was chosen through primaries marked by dishonesty, fraud, and largely fabricated delegates—exactly the opposite of what Obidient stands for.
With the aforementioned transgressions, it is disgraceful that the candidate has not deemed it necessary to bring the party’s dispersed and shattered ranks together in Edo.
For the sake of dignity, I therefore urged all my supporters and Obidient Family to abstain from the alleged fitness walk.
