Just In: Court Grants DCP Abba Kyari Temporary Bail

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Commander of the Force Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari two weeks bail to enable him bury his mother.
This decision comes after Kyari had spent 27 months in detention.
Kyari was detained following his arrest on February 14, 2022, in connection with drug-related charges brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Justice Emeka Nwite ordered Kyari to deposit the sum of N50 million and a surety in like sum.
He also ordered that the surety which shall be his counsel in the matter, should deposit a copy of his call to bar certificate to the deputy registrar of the court.
The court has fixed May 31 for the determination of his bail application.
