LGA Autonomy: Victory Well Deserved- Olatunji

The President General of National Union of Local Government Employees. Comrade Ambali Akeem Olatunji, has described the just delivered judgement of the supreme court of justice on Local Government Autonomy as a victory for all local Government workers and Nigerians in general, saying, it is a victory well deserved.
Comrade Ambali who was visibly elated during the zoom call, stated that “Local Government Autonomy is an idea whose time is now”, adding that, it has been one of the projects he embarked on upon resuming office as the President General of Nulge few years ago.
He said, him being able to see Autonomy granted after much struggle that seem endless and unachievable is a joy that is inexplicable for him, adding that “I am most grateful to God almighty who gave the grace to make this happen at his time”.
Comrade Ambali noted that the Autonomy is a total freedom for Local Government and hailed the supreme court judges for tenaciously delivering judgement that has heralded the beginning of total financial freedom for Local Government in Nigeria.
He thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the commitment and fatherly role he played in ensuring the Local Government breathe fresh air as well as the freedom to operate as they should constitutionally.
He Also, charged the various Local Government Chairmen to see this Autonomy as a duty and responsibility that will bring about the needed developments in the various local government.
He thanked, NEC members and all Local Government workers for observing the one day prayer and fasting, also, appreciated all those who helped in making Local Government Autonomy a success, adding that together victory has been achieved.
