FIDA Partners PCRC To Promote Community Safety In Rivers State

In a bid to strengthen community safety and foster collaboration, the Chairperson of the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA) in Rivers State, Emi George, led the Executive Committee on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Mr. Voke Emore.

The visit aimed to explore avenues for partnership between FIDA, PCRC, and the community, focusing on collaboration and support, community engagement, training, capacity building, and paralegal training for retired police officers. The discussions also touched on the induction of FIDA members into the PCRC community.

Mr. Emore emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between FIDA and PCRC to enhance police-community relations. He acknowledged FIDA’s critical role in providing legal support and advocacy for vulnerable groups. The PCRC Chairman expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting that it would promote peace and security in Rivers State.

The FIDA Chairperson announced the organization’s commitment to organizing a paralegal training program for retired police officers, aimed at equipping them with legal and intelligence-gathering skills to contribute to community safety.

As a token of appreciation, the PCRC Chairman presented FIDA with an award of recognition for their contributions to protecting vulnerable populations in Rivers State.
