The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has debunked claims that Governor Okpebholo failed to fulfill his promise of a N500 million monthly subvention to the university. According to Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information and Public Relations, the governor’s administration has consistently delivered on its promise since November 2024 ¹.
“The university has received the monthly subvention without any defaults, and we appreciate the governor’s commitment to uplifting the institution,” Aladenika stated. He also clarified that the February salary was paid on March 7, with the delay attributed to technical issues that have since been resolved.
Furthermore, Aladenika addressed the recall of sacked and victimized staff, emphasizing that the decision was made in good faith to correct past injustices. He noted that none of the reinstated staff members were found guilty of ‘sex for marks’ allegations, highlighting the importance of verifying information before making accusations.
Governor Okpebholo’s administration has demonstrated its dedication to revitalizing higher education in Edo State, with the monthly subvention being a key aspect of this effort ². As the university continues to receive the necessary support, stakeholders are encouraged to seek accurate information and verify facts before making claims.
