Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has been hailed as a shining example of an institution dedicated to providing top-notch education for societal development. This glowing endorsement was made by Otunba Mike Adelegan Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information and Public Relations, during an interactive session with journalists in Benin City.
Aladenika attributed the university’s remarkable turnaround to the tireless efforts of the current management, led by Acting Vice Chancellor Sunday Olowo Samuel. He noted that the institution had previously faced numerous challenges, but thanks to the management’s genuine efforts, Ambrose Alli University has been repositioned as a premier destination for academic excellence.
He also recalled the period the school’s gate was often locked by students and staff due to one unsettled issue or the other. He further said that is now history as the management has put things in place to ensure peace continue to reign in the institution.
The university’s progress is also attributed to the support of Governor Monday Okpebholo, who has consistently remitted the monthly subvention of ₦500 million. This funding has enabled the institution to overcome past hurdles, including the induction of medical students, which had been stalled for a long time.
Recently, the university inducted 204 nurses, marking a significant milestone in its history. Aladenika expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering support, stating that the university now enjoys favorable government policies, ensuring a peaceful and productive environment.
In another significant development, the university’s Governing Council has approved the advertisement for vacant principal positions, including Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Bursar, and Librarian. Aladenika thanked the media for their continued support and appealed for its sustenance.
With its commitment to academic excellence, Ambrose Alli University is poised to remain a leading institution in Nigeria, shaping the minds of future leaders and change-makers.
