The Rivers State Police Command have arrested and detained a table water truck driver simply identified as Nanso for crushing to death a female child of about six year old at Anozie/Illabouchi,Mile 2 Diobu, PortHarcourt on Thursday May 1,2025.
Eyewitness told our reporter that the truck was heading to Illabouchi out of Anozie when the accident occured.
The Eyewitness stated that the truck driver was rounded up by mob who wanted to linch him when Police operatives from Azikiwe Police Division rushed to the scene and rescued him from the mob.
We gathered that the Police personnel impounded the truck and drove it to Azikiwe Police Division while the driver is being detained at the station.
When our correspondent visited the station,he saw the table water truck parked at the station with deflated tyres.
Spokesperson for the Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko was yet to respond to enquiry by our reporter on the incident.
