The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.), Made a call on the 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps Members deployed to the state to embrace selfless service and dedication in order to meet the aspirations of their host communities.
This was given in the orientation Camp during the closing ceremony of the three-week orientation course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, the Sole Administrator urged the Corps Members to uphold the highest standards of responsibility and patriotism throughout their service year.
“Your service is an opportunity to leave lasting legacies in your host communities. Approach your assignments with commitment, innovation, and a genuine desire to make a difference,” he stated.
He further assured the Corps Members of the hospitality and goodwill of the people of Rivers State, encouraging them to integrate and contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.
The Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, commended the Corps Members for their outstanding performance during the orientation course, despite the challenges of regimented camp life.
He expressed confidence in their readiness to excel in the next phase of the NYSC programme, where they will be deployed to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural infrastructure.
Mr. Oleghe also appealed to stakeholders, community leaders, and Corps Employers to provide the Corps Members with conducive accommodation and welfare packages to enhance their productivity. “When Corps Members are well-supported, they perform optimally, and the entire society benefits from their contributions,” he emphasized.
The ceremony marked the successful completion of the orientation course, with Corps Members now set to proceed to their Places of Primary Assignment across Rivers State.
