Dr. Ogbemudia Assumes Office as DG, Directorate of Education Quality Assurance

The Directorate of Education Quality Assurance in Edo State has welcomed a new era under the leadership of Dr. Amen Ogbemudia Uhunmwangho who has officially assumed office as the Director General. In her inaugural address, Dr. Ogbemudia expressed deep humility and gratitude, attributing her appointment to divine providence.

Dr. Ogbemudia emphasized that her new role is not just an administrative position but a mission to restore dignity to Edo State's schools, inspire confidence in its education system, and ensure every child has access to quality education. She quoted herself, saying, "Quality is not an act. It is a culture, a character, and a commitment to doing what is right even when no one is watching." This mantra is set to guide the Directorate's operations under her leadership.

The Director General extended her appreciation to key stakeholders, including Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, whose vision for education reform led to the establishment of the Directorate. She also acknowledged the Honourable Commissioner for Education for his leadership and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, for her behind-the-scenes contributions to the state’s education progress. Dr. Ogbemudia emphasized the need for a 100% collaboration with the Commissioner’s office to achieve excellence in education.

As the Directorate embarks on this new journey, Dr. Ogbemudia cited Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV), “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…”, underscoring the importance of diligence and commitment in their work. She called on her colleagues to join her in this mission, focusing on innovation, training, and leading by example.

With Dr. Ogbemudia at the helm, the Directorate of Education Quality Assurance is poised to make significant strides in improving the state’s education sector. Her leadership is expected to drive critical reforms, ensuring global standards in public learning institutions and fostering a culture of excellence.

Dr Amen Ogbemudia is a seasoned educationist with over a decade of experience in educational management and administration, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Education, Master’s degree in Educational Management, and Ph.D. in Educational Administration, she is a skilled writer, capacity builder, strategy developer, and motivational speaker. She is expected to drive reforms in school supervision, curriculum quality control, and performance evaluation across Edo State
