As pupils across Edo State gear up for the Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination scheduled to hold tomorrow, the Director-General of the Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability, Dr. Amen Ogbemudia‑Uhunmwangho, has issued a heartfelt and urgent appeal to all parents and guardians statewide. Dr. Ogbemudia-Uhunmwangho emphasized the importance of punctuality, preparedness, and discipline, core values that the Directorate promotes in its pursuit of quality education.

Dr. Ogbemudia-Uhunmwangho urged all parents and guardians to ensure their children arrive early at their designated examination centers, as lateness will not be tolerated under any circumstances. “Punctuality is a reflection of the values that support accountability, excellence, and fairness in our education system,” she noted. The DG encouraged parents to make adequate logistical and emotional preparations, ensuring their children are not only on time but also calm and confident on exam day.

The Director-General reminded caregivers that their support is crucial to a child’s success and that parental involvement remains an essential part of the educational ecosystem. “Let us all play our part in reinforcing a culture of excellence,” she said. “Tomorrow’s examination is not just a test of knowledge, but a test of our collective commitment to raising responsible and prepared children.”

In her message of goodwill, Dr. Ogbemudia-Uhunmwangho offered fervent prayers for a smooth, safe, and successful examination exercise. She prayed for all pupils, invigilators, education officers, security personnel, parents, and stakeholders, asking for divine protection and wisdom to guide everyone traveling to and from examination centers.

The Director-General expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Paddy Iyamu, Honourable Commissioner for Education, for his outstanding leadership and collaborative efforts in steering the state’s basic education sector towards higher standards. She noted that the readiness and organization evident in this examination exercise reflect Commissioner Iyamu’s tireless advocacy for quality assurance, efficient systems, and accessible learning for all Edo children.

The Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability remains unwavering in its mission to oversee a transparent, credible, and hitch-free examination process. The Directorate reaffirms its dedication to delivering quality educational outcomes for every child across Edo State, guided by its core values: Professionalism, Equity, Accountability, Collaboration, Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, and Commitment (PEACE-IC).

As the examination day approaches, the Directorate urges all stakeholders to work together to ensure a successful and stress-free experience for all. With punctuality, preparedness, and collective responsibility, Edo State’s children can excel in their Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination and set a strong foundation for their future academic pursuits.
