In a heartfelt and purposeful display of appreciation and collaboration, the Director-General of the Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability (DEQA), Dr. Amen Ogbemudia Uhunmwangho, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Paddy Iyamu. The visit was a testament to the growing synergy between education stakeholders in Edo State, all working towards a common goal of delivering quality education.
Dr. Ogbemudia lauded Hon. Iyamu’s exemplary leadership, describing him as a rare gem who brings stakeholders together in perfect harmony. She praised his openness, humility, and hands-on approach, which have fostered an atmosphere of unity, trust, and purpose among education parastatals under the Ministry.
The Director-General emphasized that the visit was not only a courtesy call but also an opportunity to reaffirm DEQA’s commitment to the shared vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo. The vision is to provide accessible, accountable, and quality education to every child in Edo State. Dr. Ogbemudia noted that under the Governor’s leadership and with Hon. Iyamu at the helm of the Ministry, the environment is ripe for transformation.
Dr. Ogbemudia highlighted DEQA’s core values of Professionalism, Equity, Accountability, Collaboration, Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, and Commitment (PEACE-IC). She emphasized that these values will guide the Directorate’s efforts to institutionalize standard benchmarks and performance indicators across the education value chain.
The Director-General expressed her confidence that with Hon. Iyamu’s continued support, Edo State will become a model of quality assurance and education excellence in Nigeria. She thanked the Honourable Commissioner for the warm reception and for providing a solid platform of leadership that inspires others to build, collaborate, and serve with purpose.
