In a significant development, Barr Sergius Ogun has emerged as the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the upcoming Edo Central Senatorial District by-election. Following a successful primary election, the party’s state leadership declared Ogun the winner, and he was issued a certificate of return.
In his acceptance speech, Ogun expressed gratitude to the party leadership, delegates, and supporters for their trust in him. He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on development, good governance, and the welfare of the people of Edo Central.
As a legal practitioner and former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Ogun is expected to bring his experience in advocacy and governance to the forefront of his campaign. The Edo Central Senatorial by-election has drawn significant attention, with political analysts keenly watching the ADC’s prospects in the race.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled August 16th, 2025, for the by-election. As Ogun prepares to contest for the Edo Central Senatorial seat under the ADC banner, he has received congratulations from various quarters.
