Edo APC Rebuts PDP’s False Allegations on Travel Expenses

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has responded to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) recent allegations regarding the state’s travel expenditure. According to the PDP, the APC administration has spent a whopping ₦3.51 billion on travels in the last eight months. However, the APC has vehemently denied these claims, describing them as baseless and malicious.

The PDP’s accusations are seen as a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the unprecedented raid on the state’s coffers by the previous administration led by former Governor Godwin Obaseki. The APC administration, led by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, has demonstrated financial prudence since taking over in November 12, 2024.

Contrary to the PDP’s claims, Governor Okpebholo has not embarked on any foreign trips since assuming office. This fact alone renders the allegations absurd and malicious. The APC attributes the PDP’s claims to a combination of hallucination and post-election defeat syndrome.

The APC government in Edo State is committed to finding home-grown solutions to reposition various sectors for measurable growth. Governor Okpebholo’s leadership style is centered on grassroots development, and the administration is focused on implementing policies that will benefit the people of Edo State.

The APC urges the people of Edo State and friends of the state to ignore the PDP’s claims, which are seen as a futile attempt to tarnish the APC’s image. The party assures the public that Governor Okpebholo’s administration will prioritize the development of the state’s 18 local government areas, following global best practices.

The APC government is committed to transparency and accountability in its financial dealings. Governor Okpebholo’s administration will not engage in the kind of fiscal irresponsibility that characterized the previous PDP administration, including fictitious globe-trotting.
