Hon. (Mrs) Joy funmilayo Otoide-Ojemoron, Executive Director of Akoko-Edo Young Women’s Advocate/Mentorship Group has expressed appreciation to the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his swift interventions in ongoing and proposed road rehabilitation projects across the state, particularly in Akoko-Edo LGA and Evbhukhu Community in Oredo LGA.

In a letter of appreciation signed by Hon. (Mrs) Joy funmilayo Otoide-Ojemoron, a former Special Assistant to the immediate past governor, she commended the Governor for his decisive action on the Evbhukhu–Sapela Road project in Oredo and the planned palliative works on failed sections along the Auchi–Igarra–Aiyetoro–Uneme–Nekhua–Aiyegunle–Ekpesa–Ibillo–Ekor–Ikiran–Oke–Ikakumo Junction road in Akoko-Edo.

According to Mrs. Otoide-Ojemoron, the Governor’s timely response demonstrates true leadership, people-oriented governance, and commitment to citizens’ welfare, especially considering that the affected road in Akoko-Edo is a federal responsibility.

She noted that previous appeals for government interventions were hindered by political bottlenecks, adding that those who once opposed state involvement are now among those acknowledging the importance of the Governor’s proactive measures.

The letter also appealed to the Governor to sustain his efforts by drawing the Federal Government’s attention toward providing a permanent solution to the road challenge, similar to the federal intervention on Sapela Road, Benin City.

Mrs. Otoide-Ojemoron further appreciated the Governor for the opportunities given to Akoko-Edo people to serve in his administration, describing it as an encouraging step toward inclusive governance and community development.

She reaffirmed the communities’ collective support for the Governor’s leadership, praising him as “a governor who stands close to the people and inspires confidence across Edo communities.”
