The creative flame of the Ogbemudia family continues to burn brightly as Miss Samuella Ogbemudia, a gifted young artist and granddaughter of the late Brigadier General (Dr.) Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism in Benin City.
The visit was in preparation for her forthcoming art exhibition at the British Council, Lagos, scheduled for November 29, 2025, served as both a formal notification and an avenue to seek the Ministry’s collaboration and moral support as she prepares to represent Edo State on an international platform.
Miss Ogbemudia, who has steadily distinguished herself through creative expression and artistic excellence, was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Iryn Omorogiuwa, Esq.
In her remarks, Mrs. Omorogiuwa congratulated the young artist on the global recognition, describing her as “a beacon of creativity and a proud bearer of the Ogbemudia legacy of discipline, excellence, and service.” She commended Samuella for using her art to celebrate Edo’s identity, noting that her forthcoming exhibition at the British Council would “offer a unique opportunity to tell Edo’s story through artistic interpretation.”
The Permanent Secretary further assured her of the Ministry’s full moral support, expressing confidence that Samuella’s participation would bring pride and visibility to the State’s vibrant art and culture sector.

Accompanying the artist on the visit was her aunt, Dr. Amen Ogbemudia, the Director General, Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability (DEQA). In her remarks, Dr. Ogbemudia expressed profound pride in her niece’s accomplishments, describing her as “a living reflection of our late father’s enduring influence a symbol of the excellence and vision General S.O. Ogbemudia stood for.”
She lauded Samuella’s commitment to the arts and reaffirmed her personal and institutional dedication to supporting young talents who employ creativity as a tool for education, empowerment, and cultural preservation. “You are a source of pride to our family and our state. Keep pushing boundaries and continue telling Edo’s story beautifully,” she added.
Responding, Miss Samuella Ogbemudia expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry for the warm reception and inspiring words. She pledged to represent Edo State with distinction and to continue producing works that reflect the state’s beauty, values, and rich heritage.
The ministry officials praised Miss Ogbemudia for her creativity, modesty, and dedication. They noted that her achievements not only bring honor to her family but also uphold the illustrious legacy of her grandfather the late General S.O. Ogbemudia, whose contributions to Edo’s development remain revered.
