The Spiritual Leader of Jesus Freedom Covenant Ministry in Ovbiogie Community, Benin City, Amb. Bishop Dr. Lucky Omonabiese, has called on Christians to uphold their dignity and conduct themselves honourably at all times, especially in public places, to earn genuine respect from society.
Delivering his message on the altar during a Sunday service, Bishop Omonabiese urged members of the congregation to consistently do what is right in the sight of God, stressing that righteous living attracts blessings while unrighteous behaviour invites curses.
Addressing women in the church and across Nigeria, the cleric emphasized that beauty does not sustain a marriage, but godly character and wisdom do. He encouraged women to be prayerful, supportive of their husbands, and to see their husbands as leaders of the home, noting that humility strengthens the family structure.
According to him, “No one genuinely praises God and ends in disgrace. When we value grace, we experience honour, but when we despise it, disgrace follows. God alone is able to bless, deliver, and protect His children from evil.”
Popularly known as Ororo and God’s Battle Axe, Bishop Omonabiese lamented that many of the challenges Christians face are self inflicted rather than demonic. He identified gossip, envy, lying, and stealing as common vices that hinder spiritual and personal progress.
The bishop also charged elders in the church to embrace hard work and strive toward leaving meaningful legacies for their children, including building a home and raising a family. Failure to do so, he said, leaves a person “guilty before God.”
He further encouraged parents to train their children in righteousness, good character, and investment principles so they can grow into responsible and successful adults. Citing Genesis 5:6–12, he reminded the congregation of the importance of valuing time, describing it as “a precious resource that must never be wasted.”
Speaking on marriage, the gospel preacher and music composer advised women to choose partners wisely and avoid men who are unprepared for family responsibilities. He urged wives to support their husbands, remain humble, and be submissive as commanded in Scripture.
Quoting 1 Peter 3:7, Bishop Omonabiese noted that not every challenge requires prayer, adding that some matters demand personal responsibility and discipline. According to him, “Prayer does not give honour to your husband your character does.”
