The atmosphere at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City, was filled with celebration and inspiration on Sunday, November 16, 2025, as the 8th Edition of the Best of Edo Awards brought together trailblazers, innovators, and community changemakers under the theme “Ideas in Motion.”
Among the standout honorees was Hon. Sir Ezehi MD Igbas, Chairman of the Edo State House of Assembly Service Commission, who received the prestigious Award of Excellence. The recognition underscores his unwavering commitment to excellence, institutional reforms, and principled leadership within the state’s public service.
The award was presented by Hon. Pascal Ugbome to Mr. Yakubu, who received it on behalf of Hon. Igbas. In his brief remarks, Ugbome commended Hon. Igbas for his dedication to strengthening legislative administration and aligning his work with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, aimed at building a more efficient, transparent, and people-focused Edo State.
This year’s edition of the Best of Edo Awards continued its tradition of spotlighting individuals, brands, and organizations whose creativity, innovation, and positive influence are helping shape a better future for the state. The event emphasized the power of ideas, purposeful action, and community-driven development as key drivers of sustainable progress.
For Hon. Igbas, the award serves as both recognition and motivation reinforcing his resolve to continue contributing meaningfully to Edo’s institutional growth and governance excellence.
