The Edo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his recognition as New Telegraph Governor of the Year (Education) by New Telegraph.
In a statement made available to journalists, Mrs. Abdallah described the award as a well-deserved honour and a strong validation of the Governor’s unwavering commitment to repositioning the education sector and strengthening human capital development in Nigeria.
According to the Commissioner, Governor Okpebholo’s strategic investments in educational infrastructure, teacher capacity development, and inclusive learning policies have continued to distinguish Edo State as a shining example of purposeful leadership and progressive governance.
“This prestigious recognition affirms His Excellency’s visionary leadership and bold reforms in the education sector. It is a proud achievement for the government and people of Edo State. The Governor’s dedication to expanding access to quality education particularly for girls, women, and vulnerable children reflects his deep commitment to sustainable growth and social transformation,” Mrs. Abdallah stated.
She emphasized that the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development remains fully aligned with the Governor’s development agenda, especially in advancing girl-child education, women empowerment initiatives, and comprehensive social protection programmes across the state.
Mrs. Abdallah further noted that the award serves as both recognition and motivation for the administration to consolidate its gains and sustain transformative policies aimed at securing a brighter future for Edo children and strengthening the socio-economic foundation of the state.
The Ministry joined other stakeholders, development partners, and well-meaning citizens in celebrating Governor Okpebholo on the milestone achievement, wishing him continued wisdom and success in his service to Edo State and the nation at large.
