Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has inspected four major road construction projects currently ongoing in the Edo Central Senatorial District as part of efforts to ensure quality infrastructure development across the state.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr Patrick Akhere Ebojele, the projects inspected by the governor include the Uromi–Agbor Road, Ukpenu Road, Ujoelen Road, and Illeh Road, all located within Edo Central. The governor, accompanied by government officials and contractors handling the projects, assessed the level of work done and emphasised the need for strict adherence to quality standards.

Governor Okpebholo explained that the inspection formed part of the state government’s strategy to closely monitor ongoing infrastructure projects and ensure that they are delivered according to specifications and within the stipulated timeframe. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across Edo State, noting that enhanced road networks will boost connectivity, facilitate movement, and stimulate economic activities in communities across the state.

Contractors handling the various projects briefed the governor on the progress of work and assured him of their commitment to completing the projects as scheduled.

The governor explained that the road projects are part of the Edo State Government’s wider infrastructure development drive aimed at enhancing transportation, facilitating easier movement for residents, and stimulating socio-economic growth in Edo Central and adjoining communities.
