The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Edo State, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, has called on citizens to embrace the spirit of unity, compassion, and selflessness as Christians across the world celebrate Easter.
In a goodwill message to mark the Easter celebration, Abdallah described the season as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, symbolizing sacrifice, renewal, hope, and the triumph of life over death. She noted that the period offers a solemn opportunity for reflection on the enduring values of love, forgiveness, and compassion as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
The Commissioner extended warm greetings to women, children, families, and other vulnerable groups across the state, acknowledging their resilience and vital contributions to building a progressive and compassionate society.
She reassured that the Ministry remains committed to protecting and empowering vulnerable populations, in line with the vision of the Edo State Government.
Abdallah further urged residents to use the Easter season as a time to promote peace, mutual respect, and kindness, emphasizing the need to support those in need, especially the less privileged.
While wishing citizens a joyful Easter celebration, she expressed hope that the season would bring renewed strength, hope, and happiness to every home, and continued peace, progress, and prosperity to Edo State.
