The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC), Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has praised the coaches and management of Bendel Insurance Football Club for their impressive turnaround in the ongoing 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Enabulele, who assumed office in December, commended the team’s ability to move from the relegation zone to the 8th position in the league table. He attributed the success to the dedication of Head Coach Greg Ikhenoba and his team.
During a meeting with the coaches and management team, Enabulele emphasized the need for strategic planning to enhance the team’s performance. He stressed the importance of proper data collection, recruitment processes, technical depth, and teamwork among the coaching crew and management team.
Enabulele stated that his priority is to build a strong Bendel Insurance FC, which aligns with Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s vision for the team. He emphasized the need for the team to finish among the top three in the league, generating revenue and bringing glory to the state.
The ESSC chairman encouraged the team to secure victories, particularly in their upcoming home game against Remo Stars. He acknowledged the team’s past achievements but emphasized the need to pursue new goals and set agendas.
In response, Head Coach Greg Ikhenoba expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make progress, stating that their focus is now on elevating their performance to gain continental recognition.
Enabulele assured that the commission is working on providing the team with a befitting camp, including standard hostel facilities, to improve the welfare of the players and officials.
