Obaseki Unveils Plans For Oredo Online Services Platform.

Nigerians from the Oredo Local Government Council extract will continue to witness a robust improvement in administrative operations after the Council Chairman, Dr. Tom Obaseki yet again launched a symbolic initiative, “Oredo Online Services Platform”

The launch is a follow-up of the just-ended first-ever eventful Oredo Boxing Games 2024, at the indoor sports complexion of the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Speaking to newsmen during a pre-launch press conference on Monday in Benin City, Dr. Tom Obaseki disclosed that the platform which will be formally launched on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, had earlier undergone a 90-day test run.

The Online Services Platform according to Dr. Obaseki is the first in many years to have been designed to modify the difficulties experienced in transactional operations of any government council area in the state.

The recent development which is among some of the cutting-edge projects generated by Dr. Tom Obaseki’s led administration is a digital environment where people can communicate, share information, and collaborate.

The Council Chairman said that the Oredo Online Services Platform will promote transparency in governance as well as a residents-friendly experience.

According to Dr. Obaseki, the Oredo Online Services Platform boasts a plethora of features tailored to meet the diverse needs of citizens and residents of Oredo, with some of its key functionalities including convenience, flexibility, and reliability.

Speaking further, he said that it is accessible 24/7 and offers a platform for citizens to access multiple services remotely and from the comfort of their homes while eliminating indiscriminate, selective, and excessive billing.

“Oredo Online Services Platform is an automated and innovative service delivery platform initiated and executed by our administration that will render various services to Oredo residents in a timely, seamless, and more efficient manner”, he explained

The digital platform has also been designed to automate access to services in a way that anywhere in the World, citizens of Oredo can have access to services such as Local Government Origin/Identification Certificates, Marriage Registration, Burial Permits, and other services without being physically present.

He said the Oredo Local Government Area is a melting pot of diverse ethnic groups with a population of approximately 536,827 according to the 2006 census.

He added, “It is the most urbanized local Government Area in Edo State and not only serves as the State capital but also the seat of the State Government as well as the palace of the Oba of Benin.

Oredo is therefore also the capital of the Historical Benin Empire, making it one of the oldest Cities in the World”.

Dr. Tom Obaseki’s revolutionizing service delivery to residents is perceived as the best like never before in the Oredo Government Council, with the sole aim of taking the lead in digitizing the process at the Local Government level making it more efficient and seamless.
