In a shocking move, Engr. Abraham Osezuah, a highly respected leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Esan North East Local Government Area, Ward 11, Unit 9, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with over 300 of his followers. This massive defection has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape of Edo State.

The defection ceremony, which was reminiscent of a carnival celebration, saw Engr. Osezuah expressing his enthusiasm for the SHINE agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration. He emphasized his desire to join forces with the governor to achieve his vision for the state, stating that he cannot afford to remain in opposition. Notably, this is Engr. Osezuah’s first time defecting from the PDP since 1998.

The unit chairman, Mr. Monday Oliver, warmly welcomed Engr. Osezuah and his supporters, presenting them with the broom symbol of the APC. He assured them of a harmonious working relationship, free from discrimination against old and new members. Similarly, the chairman of Ward 11, Mr. Rolland Ohue, congratulated the defectors and promised them equal opportunities within the party.
The highlight of the occasion was the symbolic handing over of the APC broom to Engr. Osezuah and the other defectors. Engr. Osezuah pledged his unwavering support for the party, vowing to bring his wealth of experience to bear in driving the party’s success. This significant defection is expected to have far-reaching implications for the political dynamics of Edo State.
