Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Muslims in the state and globally on the joyous occasion of Eid al-Adha. The governor emphasized the significance of the festival, highlighting its themes of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion to Almighty Allah.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo urged Muslims to reflect on the core lessons of Eid al-Adha, including compassion, generosity, and submission to God’s will. He drew inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham) exemplary spirit of sacrifice, encouraging Muslims to deepen their faith and uphold virtues of peaceful coexistence.

The governor stressed the importance of unity and understanding, particularly during this period, and called on all citizens to live in peace and harmony. He assured the Muslim community of his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all religions can thrive and citizens’ rights are respected.

“My administration remains dedicated to creating an Edo State where peace, progress, and prosperity are accessible to all,” Governor Okpebholo stated. He encouraged Muslims to celebrate responsibly, adhere to safety guidelines, and share their blessings with those less fortunate.

As Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha, Governor Okpebholo prayed for continued peace, security, and development in Edo State and Nigeria. On behalf of the government and people of Edo State, he wished the Muslim Ummah a blessed and memorable Eid al-Adha.
