Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has fulfilled his campaign promise of providing a 2.5MVA injection sub-station to Udomi community in Esan Central Local Government Area. The governor inspected the completed project, accompanied by top officials, and expressed joy at the impact it will have on the people.
“This is a new development for the people as they are feeling the impact of governance, which should be closer to the people,” Okpebholo said. “The State will witness more developmental projects as we have keyed into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The sub-station will serve over nine transformers, bringing electricity to Udomi and surrounding communities, including Ujabhole 1, Unogbo, Idimoghodor, Ibhioloulu, and Afuda. The Business Head, Technical Operations at Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Engr. Mokwenye Jidenmah, commended the governor for the project, assuring that the communities will benefit from constant electricity supply.
In addition to the sub-station, Okpebholo also visited the site for the construction of Edo State College of Nursing, Health Sciences, and Technology, commending the Edo State House of Assembly for passing the bill. “This ongoing project is made possible due to the action of the lawmakers,” he said. “Edo people should expect more projects.”
The governor’s initiatives demonstrate his commitment to improving the lives of Edo residents, providing access to reliable electricity and quality healthcare education. The projects are part of the state’s development agenda, aimed at boosting economic growth and enhancing the well-being of citizens.
