In a meeting held at the Edo State Secretariat along Sapele Road, commissioners in the state came together to pay tribute to the newly appointed Director-General of the Directorate of Educational Quality and Accountability, Dr. Amen Ogbemudia Uhunwangho. The meeting was a testament to the high esteem in which Dr. Ogbemudia is held by her peers and colleagues in the state government.
Hon. Washington, a commissioner in the state, was among the first to eulogize Dr. Ogbemudia. He described her as “an asset to the state” and expressed confidence that her wealth of experience and expertise would greatly benefit the education sector in Edo State. According to him, with Dr. Ogbemudia at the helm of the Directorate of Educational Quality and Accountability, the state can expect significant improvements in the education system.
Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, the Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, also praised Dr. Ogbemudia, saying that the governor had made an excellent choice in appointing her to the position. He described her as “a woman of dignity and integrity” and attributed her suitability for the role to her background and upbringing. According to him, Dr. Ogbemudia’s father had set a good example of governance, which she had emulated in her own career.
The Commissioner for Finance also joined in the praise, congratulating Dr. Ogbemudia on her well-deserved appointment. He echoed the sentiments of his colleagues, describing Dr. Ogbemudia as “a great woman who knows her onions.” The commissioner noted that everyone who had worked with Dr. Ogbemudia had nothing but commendations for her, a testament to her competence and dedication to her work.
The meeting was a clear indication of the high level of confidence that the commissioners have in Dr. Ogbemudia’s ability to drive positive change in the education sector. With her wealth of experience and expertise, Dr. Ogbemudia is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the Directorate of Educational Quality and Accountability. The people of Edo State can expect a bright future for education in the state under her leadership.
