N’Edo Gheria Commends Okpebholo, Idahosa on One Year of Purposeful Governance

Benin City — A socio-cultural and non-political group, N’Edo Gheria, has lauded the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, for their remarkable strides within one year in office, urging them to remain focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

In a statement signed by its National Convener, Comrade Dr. Patrick Ebojele, the group praised the administration for implementing people-oriented policies and programs that have positively impacted various sectors of the state’s economy.

According to the statement, “It is evidently clear that most of the policies of this administration are people-oriented, as seen across critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, security, and rural development.”

N’Edo Gheria commended the government’s remarkable commitment to improving the education sector, citing the recruitment of 5,000 teachers and the renovation and digital upgrade of schools, including Ujabhole Grammar School, Uwessan, as a testament to the administration’s dedication to empowering young people through learning.

The group also highlighted the ongoing improvements in roads and infrastructure, applauding the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity and accessibility, which has opened up new opportunities for trade, commerce, and social interaction across the state.

Furthermore, the statement praised the administration’s rural development initiatives, such as the Udomi–Ujabhole–Ibhiolulu–Afuda Road construction, the ongoing flyover bridge in Benin City, as well as water supply projects, healthcare centers, and agricultural support programs.

Dr. Ebojele noted that the government’s proactive investment in strengthening security networks to curb cultism, kidnapping, and other crimes has further restored confidence among citizens and investors alike.

“As you mark this milestone, we acknowledge the challenges ahead and reaffirm our support for your vision,” the statement continued. “Keep pushing forward, and know that your hard work is making a tangible difference in the lives of Edo people.”

N’Edo Gheria urged Governor Okpebholo and his deputy to remain steadfast, emphasizing that their first year in office has rekindled hope, strengthened unity, and set Edo State on a renewed path of growth and prosperity.
