The Edo State Government has unveiled a new transport service, New Edo Line, aimed at enhancing the state’s transportation infrastructure. The commissioning ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

During the event, Governor Okpebholo reiterated his call for high-profile individuals, including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, to notify him before visiting Edo State to ensure their security. Wike backed Okpebholo’s stance, emphasizing the importance of security protocols for high-profile Nigerians.

Governor Okpebholo expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, which has led to growth and development in Edo State. He assured the President that Edo State will deliver 2.5 million votes in 2027 to secure his re-election.

Wike commended Governor Okpebholo’s performance, noting that he has shown commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State. He praised the Governor’s focus on development projects, saying, “Leadership is not easy, but you have shown that you mean well for the people of Edo State.”

The new Edo Line transport service is expected to improve the lives of Edo residents by providing a reliable and efficient means of transportation. Governor Okpebholo promised to continue developing projects that will positively impact the state’s residents.
