The Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability (DEQA) has joined millions of Edo people in celebrating a visionary leader, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his one year in office as the Executive Governor of Edo State.

In a statement personally signed by the Director-General, Dr. Amen Ogbemudia Uhunwangho, DEQA described Governor Okpebholo’s first year in office as “a season of purposeful leadership, renewed hope, and people-centered governance.”

According to Dr. Ogbemudia, the governor has, within a short time, proven that true leadership is not about position but about purpose, about touching lives, restoring hope, and building a future that reflects the collective dreams and aspirations of the Edo people.

“Your Excellency came with a clear vision and a heart devoted to service, and in so short a time, your leadership has brought light, direction, and renewed confidence across Edo State,” she said.

The statement further described the Okpebholo administration as “a God-ordained government” one that has emerged as a beacon of hope, sincerity, and compassion, rescuing Edo people from years of stagnation and restoring faith in governance.

Dr. Ogbemudia noted that from infrastructural renewal to improved welfare and educational reforms, the governor’s administration has shown unwavering commitment to the holistic development and well-being of every citizen. She emphasized that Governor Okpebholo’s focus on education, accountability, and quality service delivery continues to inspire DEQA to raise the bar in ensuring that learning outcomes align with his vision of a prosperous and enlightened Edo State.

“Your Excellency has shown that leadership is rooted in humility and service. Edo people feel your presence daily through your actions, compassion, and steady progress across all sectors. You have restored dignity to governance and rekindled hope in the hearts of our people,” the statement added.

Dr. Ogbemudia also appreciated the governor for finding her worthy of service and giving her the opportunity to contribute her quota to his administration’s SHINE agenda.

“I remain deeply grateful to His Excellency for the confidence reposed in me to serve under this purposeful administration. It is indeed an honour to be part of a government driven by sincerity, compassion, and divine vision for Edo’s greatness,” she said.

As the governor marks his first anniversary in office on November 12, DEQA offered prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the governor, urging him to remain steadfast in his mission to transform Edo State.

“As you continue this noble journey of transformation, we pray that God Almighty will strengthen you, endow you with greater wisdom, and surround you with men and women of integrity who share your vision for a better Edo State,” Dr. Ogbemudia said.

She congratulated Governor Okpebholo on one year of impactful leadership and expressed confidence that Edo State will continue to rise stronger, brighter, and better under his watch.

Edo is rising again under your watch stronger, brighter, and better. Long live Edo State!
