The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in Edo State and across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Governor Okpebholo commended the Muslim community for their devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment demonstrated through weeks of fasting, prayers, and acts of charity. He noted that such dedication reflects the enduring strength of faith and moral responsibility within society.
He emphasized that the core values of sacrifice, compassion, tolerance, and selflessness embodied during Ramadan remain vital ingredients for fostering a peaceful, united, and prosperous society.
The Governor urged Muslims to sustain these virtues beyond the Ramadan period, encouraging continued promotion of harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among all citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, economic growth, and the welfare of all residents, Governor Okpebholo stressed that unity remains the cornerstone for achieving sustainable development and collective progress in Edo State.
He further called on all Edo people to use the festive period as an opportunity to pray for enduring peace, stability, and advancement of the state and the nation at large.
“Eid-el-Fitr is a time of joy, reflection, and gratitude. Let us celebrate in peace, extend love to one another, and remain steadfast in our shared responsibility to build a better Edo State,” the Governor stated.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the Governor wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous, and fulfilling Eid celebration.
