Agbebaku Calls for Calm, Congratulates New Edo Assembly Speaker

Agbebaku, inThe immediate past Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, the Aigbodekhe-Ini of Sobe Kingdom, Okaolele of Ozalla, and Ukoata of Avbiosi, has congratulated the newly elected Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yekini Idaiye, and other principal officers of the House, urging them to work together in the interest of peace, unity and development in Edo State. a statement issued by his Media Team, called on members of the 8th Assembly to support the new leadership and promote peaceful coexistence, stressing the need for lawmakers to remain focused on their constitutional responsibilities and the welfare of the people.

He said differences among lawmakers were natural, “Differences will naturally arise, as we all have our individual identities and convictions. However, this did not hinder the passage of people oriented Bills and Resolutions during the last three years of my leadership,” he stated.

The former Speaker also reiterated that his resignation from the leadership of the House was purely for personal reasons and was taken in the interest of peace, the state and his immediate constituency, Owan West.

He expressed appreciation to the Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his support and cooperation throughout his tenure, while reaffirming his loyalty to the party and the state.

Agbebaku urged his supporters to remain calm and continue to believe in the greater good, peaceful democratic governance and the development of Edo State.

He wished Rt. Hon. Yekini Idaiye and the other principal officers a successful tenure, urging them to provide purposeful leadership and work collaboratively with all members for the progress of the state and its people.
