Construction Of Uromi – Uwesan-Irrua Road To Commence In Two Weeks- Senator Okpebholo

The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the Edo State September governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo has assured Esan people that the construction of the Uromi – Uwesan-Irrua road will commence in the next two weeks adding that the road is part of his constituency projects which he inputted into the 2024 federal budget.
Senator Okpebholo who disclosed this while making a remark at the 50th annual national convention of Uromi Kingdom held over the weekend at Uromi, noted that when completed the road will link Utako, Onewa and other adjoining communities in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area with their kits and kins at Udomi, Ibhiolulu, Afuda and other communities in Uwesan- Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of the state.
Senator Okpebholo also disclosed that his forebears hail from Ivue – Uromi noting that he’s a son of the popular Owu, the common primogenitor of Uromi people.
While lamenting the death of his only sister of the same parents by water borne disease from bad drinking water at a bad water scooping point at Afuda, Irrua, Senator Okpebholo pointed out that, that death fired his zeal for the provision of bore holes in several Esan communities, an initiative he said he started before venturing into politics.
The Senator who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement also disclosed that work will soon commence on the abandoned Benin- Auchi section of the Benin-Abuja highway which passes through Esanland; adding that money has been approved by the Federal Executive Council, assuring that it will be completed in six months.
While assuring of his continuous support for the development of Udomi, Senator Okpebholo donated five million naira towards the development Uromi, through the Uromi Community Development Fund.
