Edo Chief Judge Urges Lawyers To Embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution

The Chief Judge of Edo State, Honourable Justice Daniel Okungbowa has urged lawyers and litigants to make use of the Multi-door Court as established by the Edo State Judiciary to operationalize the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for speedy dispensation of justice.
Hon. Justice Okungbowa made the call at Uromi on Wednesday, 17 April during an interactive session between the bar and bench of both the Uromi and Ekpoma branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) held at the Uromi High Court hall, Uromi in Esan North -East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Wednesday’s interactive session between the bar and bench at the Uromi High Court is the first of its kind for his administration as a Chief judge.
The Chief Judge led judicial officers from different Courts and jurisdictions to interact with lawyers from the Uromi and Ekpoma branches of NBA with a view to understanding the challenges confronting the lawyers and judges in the dispensation of justice in the state
.
High point of the occasion was the entertainment of the Chief Judge and his entourage by the Esan acrobatic dance (Igbabonelimin) and the adornment of the Chief Judge with the Esan traditional attire (Igbulu), by the host NBA Chairman, J. A. Onoimoimilin, Esq., Chairman of the Uromi branch of NBA, it was indeed colourful!.
