In the spirit of Easter celebration, Hon. Linda Aliu Omonzele, the member representing Edo Central Senatorial District on the board of Edo State Oil And Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC), took a significant step to support vulnerable women in her constituency. On April 18th, 2025, she launched the “EASTER WIDOWS FOOD AND CASH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM” in Esan Central Local Government Area, distributing bags of high-quality rice, other food items, and cash gifts to widows, aged, and others across the 10 wards.
The program, initiated by Hon. Linda Omonzele, aimed to give back to the society and show love to widows during the Easter period. While speaking at the event, she emphasized that the initiative was designed to support widows without any political bias, ensuring that every widow, regardless of their political affiliations, receives the support they deserve.
Hon. Linda Omonzele also used the opportunity to announce the launch of another women’s program called “Akpakomiza Angel,” encouraging women to participate in the initiative. She expressed her unwavering support for Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration, describing him as a champion for the people of Edo Central Senatorial District and Edo State at large.
The acting chairman of Esan Central Local Government Council, Hon. Kelvin Iyere, commended Hon. Linda Omonzele’s efforts, describing them as a genuine display of compassion and leadership. He further demonstrated his support by making a cash donation to ease the financial burdens of the beneficiaries.
The widows and beneficiaries who spoke at the event were overjoyed by Hon. Linda Omonzele’s kind gesture. They praised her selflessness and passion for the well-being of widows, praying for her continued success and political elevation.
