Uromi — In a ceremony filled with pomp, celebration, and community spirit, Lion (Hon.) Benedict Ayemere, NLCF, was officially installed as the 6th President of the Uromi Royal Lions Club on Sunday, 9th November 2025. The investiture and fundraising event took place at Citadel Hotel, New Agbor Road, Uromi, drawing family, friends, and fellow Lions who came to witness a new chapter in the club’s storied history.

The Special Guest of Honour, Chief Akpososo Oghenekaro, represented by Mr. Ozah Emmanuel, commended the new president and the club’s leadership for their unwavering dedication to community service. He particularly highlighted their efforts in uplifting the lives of indigent people and encouraged the Lions to continue their selfless work. “Your commitment to putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged is commendable,” he said, “and I urge you not to relent in this noble cause.”

In his acceptance speech, Lion Benedict Ayemere pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors. “As the 6th President of the Uromi Royal Lions Club, I am committed to expanding our outreach and executing more charitable projects across Uromi and its environs,” he declared. One of his key initiatives is to facilitate cataract surgeries for indigent residents, alongside other core projects aligned with the global mission of Lions International.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Lion Ayemere acknowledged the support of his family, fellow Lions, and guests. “With your encouragement and backing, the sky will be my starting point as I lead the Uromi Royal Lions Club into this new era,” he said, emphasizing his determination to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

The event concluded with a fundraising segment aimed at supporting upcoming charitable initiatives, reinforcing the club’s commitment to humanitarian service and community development.
