Abdallah Celebrates Resilient Fathers of Edo State, Commends Their Role in Nation Building

The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has congratulated fathers and father figures across the state on the occasion of Fathers’ Day 2026, describing them as the bedrock of stable homes and strong communities.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, the Ministry joined the global community in celebrating fathers for their unwavering commitment to nurturing, protecting, providing for, and guiding their families.

According to the Commissioner, fathers play a critical role in shaping society through their resilience, integrity, sacrifice, and dedication, noting that their contributions continue to drive the social and economic progress of Edo State.

She said the celebration was not only an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of fathers but also to recognize the values they embody, including responsibility, compassion, perseverance, and selfless service.

“Through their daily sacrifices and quiet acts of dedication, fathers inspire hope, instil discipline, and raise generations of responsible citizens,” the statement said.

Hon. Abdallah also expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his unwavering support and visionary leadership, stressing that the administration’s SHINE Agenda continues to promote family values, inclusion, and opportunities that strengthen the role of men and fathers in society.

The Commissioner further commended the Ministry’s He4She champions across Edo State for their consistent partnership and support in advancing programmes aimed at building stronger families and communities.

She noted that their commitment underscores the importance of shared responsibility and collaboration in creating a more inclusive and progressive society.

While urging residents to celebrate and appreciate fathers and father figures, Hon. Abdallah called for a renewed commitment to building an Edo State where fatherhood, resilience, responsibility, and humanity are cherished and celebrated.
She wished all fathers a happy and fulfilling Fathers’ Day celebration.
