The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has reaffirmed its commitment to strategic partnerships aimed at improving the welfare of women, children, families and other vulnerable groups, as the National Eye for Equity and Development (NEEDs JAGABAN 2027), formerly known as Edo Eye Akpakomiza and Denco Support Group, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry and decorated the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, as its National Patron.

The honour was conferred on the Commissioner in recognition of her exemplary leadership, humanitarian service and unwavering commitment to the protection and empowerment of women and vulnerable persons.

Speaking during the visit, the National Coordinator of the organisation, Engr. Austine Emoh Echemoda, said the recognition followed extensive consultations and an assessment of public office holders who have distinguished themselves through impactful service. He described Hon. Abdallah as a compassionate and dedicated leader whose integrity, humility and commitment to humanity have earned her widespread respect.

Engr. Echemoda disclosed that the organisation, which has evolved from a state-based support group into a national movement with coordinators across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, is committed to partnering with the Ministry in promoting policies and programmes that empower women, protect vulnerable persons and foster inclusive development.

He also assured the Commissioner of the group’s continued support in projecting the achievements of the Ministry and promoting accurate information about its people-centred initiatives.

Responding, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the organisation for the honour, describing it as a call to greater service. She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to promoting the welfare and empowerment of women, strengthening families, protecting children and supporting vulnerable groups in line with the SHINE Agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The Commissioner welcomed the organisation’s readiness to collaborate with the Ministry, assuring its members of opportunities to participate in programmes and initiatives designed to expand the impact of government interventions across the state.

She emphasized that sustainable social development can only be achieved through collective action and urged the group to remain steadfast in supporting initiatives that improve the lives of women, children and other vulnerable members of society.

The visit culminated in the decoration of Hon. Abdallah as the National Patron of the National Eye for Equity and Development (NEEDs JAGABAN 2027), underscoring the organisation’s commitment to working with the Ministry to advance inclusive development and social welfare across Edo State.
