EDSG Nominates Terry Igiebor for Top Ecological Commission Role

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of renowned businessman and grassroots politician, Mr. Terry Igiebor, as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission.

The nomination was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., who noted that the appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to placing capable and experienced individuals in strategic positions to drive sustainable development across the State.

According to the statement, Terry Igiebor brings a wealth of experience in public service, community development, and grassroots mobilization. His track record of service and dedication to improving the welfare of citizens were cited as key considerations in his nomination.

The statement further highlighted that Igiebor previously served as a Member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, where he played a significant role in promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance within the State’s public institutions.

The Edo State Government expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership for the Ecological Funding and Management Commission, particularly in addressing environmental challenges, ecological concerns, and the sustainable management of ecological funds for the benefit of Edo people.

In line with constitutional provisions, the nomination will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation. The government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutions and delivering people oriented governance through the appointment of competent individuals with proven records of service.
