The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Education, Hon. Barr. Vincent Oseyangbonaye Akhere, has congratulated Governor Monday Okpebholo on the successful conduct of the July 11, 2026 Local Government Council Elections across the state.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of his family, office and political associates, Akhere also felicitated the Chairman-elect of Esan North East Local Government Council, Prince Amb. Saturday Iyoha, on his victory at the polls and the presentation of his Certificate of Return by Governor Okpebholo.
He further congratulated the vice chairman and the eleven Councillors-elect in the local government, describing their emergence as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in them by the electorate.
According to the Governor’s aide, the overwhelming victory recorded in the elections is a reflection of the developmental strides and people-centred leadership of Governor Okpebholo, whose S.H.I.N.E. Agenda, he noted, continues to drive transformation across Edo State.
Akhere urged the newly elected council officials to remain committed to advancing the Governor’s vision by providing responsive and people-oriented leadership at the grassroots.
He also charged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, humility, transparency and selfless service, expressing confidence that their administration would usher in sustainable development, peace, progress and improved democratic dividends for the people of Esan North East Local Government.
The Special Adviser prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and grace upon the newly elected officials as they prepare to assume office, and wished them a successful, impactful and rewarding tenure.
