Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has received the backing of former political appointees who served under the immediate past administration of Mr. Godwin Obaseki, following their endorsement of his development efforts across the state.
The former appointees, under the platform of the Edo Women Ambassadors for Renewed Hope Agenda (EWARHA), made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the Governor at Government House, Benin City, where they also pledged support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Mrs. Philomena Ihenyen said the organisation, comprising over 78 professionals from different backgrounds, was motivated by Governor Okpebholo’s visible achievements and commitment to improving the lives of Edo people.
She noted that many members, despite not being card-carrying members of any political party, had embraced the APC because of the governor’s performance and practical approach to governance.
Responding, Governor Okpebholo thanked the group for its support and assured them that his administration would remain focused on delivering impactful projects across the state.
He highlighted ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects aimed at improving connectivity, opening up rural communities and boosting economic activities.
The Governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, describing them as necessary steps toward sustainable growth and national development.
Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his commitment to working with all stakeholders to advance the development of Edo State and improve the welfare of its people.
