Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on leaders, members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo Central Senatorial District to remain united and committed to securing victory for the party in the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 general elections.

The Governor made the call during a series of interactive engagements with APC stakeholders, support groups and party faithful held at his residence and the Okaijesan Town Hall in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.

The meetings, which brought together APC candidates for the July 11, 2026 local government election, 51 councillorship candidates across the five local government areas in Edo Central, and various support groups, were aimed at strengthening party cohesion, mobilising grassroots support and addressing issues affecting party members.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Okpebholo stressed the importance of unity, reconciliation and collective responsibility in advancing the fortunes of the APC.
“Politics is about give and take. This is a time for us to come together, speak frankly with one another and work as a united family. Seeing all of you here today reassures me that the party remains strong and focused,” he said.

The Governor expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in future elections, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration had implemented policies and programmes that would continue to earn the support of Nigerians.

During separate meetings with members of the Esan Central Bike/Keke Riders Association, the Edo Women Ambassadors for Renewed Hope Agenda (EWARHA), Edo Central Chapter, and the Arewa community, the Governor assured them of his administration’s continued support and inclusion in the state’s development agenda.

He further disclosed that Nigeria’s First Lady would soon visit Edo State to empower women through business support initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities.
